DanceBugs Annual Show 2019

DanceBugs Annual Show 2019

On Saturday 13th April 2019, over 60 children came together at the Dovehouse Theatre Solihull, to demonstrate the different skills and techniques they had been developing over previous terms in the first ever DanceBugs Annual Show!

The dance show incorporated skilled routines from our gymnastics, acrobatics, ballet, b-boys, freestyle, contemporary and street dance classes located in Solihull, Worcester, Redditch, Bromsgrove and Birmingham. All of our classes follow the curriculum and IDTA and are all inclusive and non-competitive, allowing children of all abilities to join in and thrive. Performances were accompanied by a variety of music genres, to celebrate the diversity of all of the children and their abilities.

Children from 4-12 years old had the opportunity to perform, developing confidence and technique, while having fun and showing off to their friends and family. A recent study by psychologists has shown that performing dramatically increases self-esteem and confidence, making children more likely to put themselves forward for new opportunities. It has also been recognised that by performing, children show off what they have learnt and how they have developed, meaning children associate learning new things as a positive and encouraging experience.

DanceBugs can’t wait for next year’s annual showcase! If our DanceBugs show sounds like something your child would be interested in, give head office a call on 0121 777 7792 or click here to book on for a free taster!

Monday Workout – Freestyle routine by DanceBugs

We’re back again with another step-by-step dance workout, except this time it’s Freestyle.

Everyone has a bit of freestyle dance in them somewhere, whether it’s DanceBugs that helps it come out or its just you at home when no-one is around we believe it is healthy to show your creative side a little and take part.

For this session we mixed some simple poses that you can do at home with some dance moves to add a little extra fun to the fitness session.

This really is a routine that you can easily learn and copy at home, all while improving your fitness. There are even some dance moves that you can add yourself when you feel is appropriate, whatever suits you!

Watch the video below to find out how we got on when it was our turn to take a class…

We hope you enjoyed the video!
